Proud parent of two MPS graduates, I joined in February 2006 to head the advancement department. I am very excited to do all I can to ensure the vibrancy of what is already a long-standing tradition of exemplary education. Some existing factors that have helped to fund this continuation of excellence of course include our annual efforts, and on a larger scale, our successful “Call to Lead” campaign now in it’s final stage. But it was interesting to find that much of our past support had come as contributions freely-given, without real solicitation. Think about that. It speaks volumes about what the board members, faculty, administration, friends, and especially the Sisters of Mercy have done for this school. Their leadership, vision and participation has impacted so many lives over the years, that virtually unsolicited support has allowed us to stretch, grow and realize the dream that is Mercyhurst Prep. Our friends and benefactors have responded over the years and we sincerely owe them our gratitude. MPS has also relied on it’s creativity, sincerity and the belief that those supportive to our cause, will do all they can to reinforce the educational experience we provide. Presently though, in these ever changing times of higher energy costs and growing operating expenses, we find what has worked in the past cannot always keep pace with the challenges of the future. Past successes must be renewed and rejuvenated while new ideas and frontiers are realized. In the upcoming year, we will be increasing our effort to relay our message through personal visitation to clusters of alumni in the area and around the nation. Our hope is that through the informative education of our needs, the MPS community will answer this energized call for support, to always keep Mercyhurst Prep true to her mission and at the forefront of an exceptional faith-based educational experience for the whole person. Please seize an opportunity to make a difference in a young student’s life. I urge you to join us in becoming one of our benefactors, patrons, supporters, sponsors, backers, protectors… friends. At MPS we truly have it all! Sincerely, David A. Agresti |
