FUNDRAISER EVENTS
Many
schools seem to have some sort of fundraiser going on all the time.
Seems you can not go more than a month or so without getting approached
to contribute to yet another boring and expensive fundraiser, all while
paying tuition! At Mercyhurst Prep, we think that we have come up with
a better approach ... keep it simple, make it better. With this in mind, we have cut back on
the number of fundraisers, made them more exciting, and put all our
emphasis on trying to be considerate to our parents and those that already
support MPS. Below you can review our solution and descriptions.
The
“CASH FOR CHRISTMAS” Parent Fundraiser
FALL 2010!
This is our ONLY mandatory fundraiser
and we have made it as painless as possible for our parents. Each student’s family
is to sell raffle tickets for great BiG cash giveaways and $50 daily winners! We work it so the mandatory cost of the 25 tickets is already included and paid for in your
tuition. In this way you have already purchased the tickets
and for every one you sell, you just keep the money. This adds incentive
since you have already paid for them and can now recoup your
money! The
cash giveaways are in the thousands of dollars with
initial $50 daily drawings beginning mid November through ever school day to Christmas break! There are also
numerous ways for the student sellers to win. Computers, XBoxes and iPods (or cash equivalents) for the high sellers,
and other great student prizes just for being the one who sold the ticket!

This tremendous event is back!
This
premier outing always takes place in the prime cut of the summer and
is always sure to please. Well attended, and held
at some of the best area courses. This event fills up fast!

BREAK & CASINO NIGHT
a fundraiser with Caribbean beach party attitude!

Always around the first day of Spring,
this fantastic event heats up the season with festive decor. The
athletic wing foyer, gym and cafeteria are transformed into a Caribbean night club
with music, dancing, festive cuisine and desserts prepared
by the Mercyhurst College Institute of Culinary Arts. Do you like casino
table games and other types of chance and amusement? This night will be perfect for you with auctions and activities that keep energy high throught the entire evening.
The attire is your choice but "Caribbean casual" seems to dominate. Buy your ticket
and you are in! The rest is on us, aside from the gambling!

The
Football TAILGATE PARTY for Homecoming
FALL 2010!
Date to be announced but it always coincides with our Homecoming game (rain or shine) and held in the MPS Cafeteria. The party starts at 5:30 followed with the game at 7:00 and all within walking distance at the Mercyhurst College Tullio Field. Come cheer your Mercyhurst Lakers on to victory! The current cost is $12.00 which includes great food, beverages, snacks and desserts and FREE admission to the game! Can't beat that!! (Spouses or guests will be charged $12 per person.) Note: The Tailgate is an adult party but your family is welcome at a total-family cost of $30/immediate family members.
MPS ALUMNI! – Look for the ‘Alumni Registration’ sign at the Tailgate to get your 5-, 10-, 15- or 20+ year recognition button to wear for the party and game. We’ll take a moment during the halftime homecoming festivities to recognize alumni.
