MPS FUNDRAISER EVENTS

Many schools seem to have some sort of fundraiser going on all the time. Seems you can not go more than a month or so without getting approached to contribute to yet another boring and expensive fundraiser, all while paying tuition! At Mercyhurst Prep, we think that we have come up with a better approach ... keep it simple, make it better. With this in mind, we have cut back on the number of fundraisers, made them more exciting, and put all our emphasis on trying to be considerate to our parents and those that already support MPS. Below you can review our solution and descriptions.

The “CASH FOR CHRISTMAS” Parent Fundraiser
This is our ONLY mandatory fundraiser and we have made it as painless as possible. Each student’s family is to sell raffle tickets for grat cash giveaways! We work it that the face value cost of the tickets are already included and paid in your student’s tuition. In this way you have already purchased the tickets and for every one you sell, you keep the money. This adds incentive since you have already paid and this is an opportunity to recoup your money! The cash giveaways are substancial and in the thousands of dollars with drawings beginning in mid November, and then continuing with drawings every friday through the end of May the following year! There are also numerous ways for the student sellers to win. iPods for the high sellers and other great prizes just for being the one who sold the ticket!

The Annual SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT
This tremendous event is heading into its twentieth year in 2007, so plan to make your reservation soon. This premier outing always takes place in the prime cut of the summer and is always sure to please. Well attended and held at some of the areas best courses, this event fills up fast!

SPRING BREAK, a fundraiser with Caribbean beach party attitude!
Always held towards the end of February, this fabulous event heats up winter with tropical island decor. The athletic wing and cafeteria are transformed into a Caribbean night club feel with two bands, dancing, festive cuisine and desserts prepared by Chef Magalhas of the Mercyhurst College of Culinary Institute, casino games of chance and amusement, auctions and activities that keep energy high throught the entire evening. The attire is Caribbean casual with prizes going to the most creative and chances for a Caribbean Cruise for two or cash! Buy your ticket and you are in! The rest is on us!
